About the Author
Most people talk about eliminating risk but the reality is much different: risk is rarely eliminated - it is anticipated, managed, and reduced through sound judgment, conviction, and design.
My career has been built in the friction zone; those moments and places where business continuity meets disorder, where public policy meets street-level reality, and where global pressures create local consequences.
From the Front Lines to the Boardroom
I began my professional path in high-pressure operational environments shaped by tactical policing, investigations, and intelligence-led work. Those experiences provided an unfiltered view of how fast conditions can deteriorate when institutions are unprepared, indecisive, or operating with outdated assumptions.
Over the past two decades, I have studied and worked through periods of major civic disruption, protest movements, evolving public disorder, organized criminal activity, and the growing overlap between physical intimidation, digital influence, and social polarization. That background developed a practical intelligence lens; looking beyond visible events to understand coordination, vulnerabilities, motivations, and second-order effects.
Today, that same mindset is applied to corporate environments, strategic planning, and organizational resilience.
A Practical Security Lens
I recognized early that enforcement alone is reactive. Sustainable security must also be proactive, environmental, and strategic.
As a practitioner focused on Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED) and enterprise risk thinking, I work at the intersection of business, public safety, and the built environment. Whether assessing a commercial tower, a mixed-use development, a major public event, or an executive risk program, the objective is the same: identify vulnerabilities before they become incidents.
That means evaluating more than aesthetics or compliance. It means understanding access control, sightlines, natural surveillance, territorial reinforcement, human behaviour, crisis readiness, and reputational exposure.
Why I Created Strat Friction
